Am proud of 'egoistic' baby. Congrats! who today passed driving test at his first attempt.=) mini celebration today. watched abit of chingay.
Not very satisfied with my accounting test. so bad... questions were too simple that i didnt expect such sort of question to come out. Shouldnt accounts be like writing income statements and calculations? It ended up testing basic stuff like name this and name that etc. Too simple that i never study hahas. Furthermore it s the new year. Welll i'll work harder for the next tests!

Im done with a project after finishing the report. Today had presentation. First ever presentation delivered in mandarin. My group was the second group. Before ours, the first speaker of the first group had a mental block cos he was too nervous. After that prof said we're allowed to use scripts cos she fully understand that it s not easy to talk history in chinese. Haha happily i start reading from script.
With one project down, econs project starting on sat. was busily mugging accounts test for tmr and doing the project readings at the same time. Also trying to be on pace for my readings for sat classes.
Gonna start planning for my 2 research papers. No joke. Too many projects. Well but again, smu ppl seems to be numb to the heavy workloads. We're always cheering one another on.=)

Life has been super busy with assignments and projects and readings and meetings and pa tuo-ing. Haha! Realised it s been some time since i blogged. Only one project out of the 6 group projects and 2 individual research papers that i have have so far started. And i feel im already putting a strain on my own personal time.
Not sure if i have chinese new year. This year is so special because it is the first time my family spend the new year at home. Every year daddy will drive us to some resort in m'sia (went before genting, cameron, fraser, kota tinggi, desaru, melaka, KL etcc) and the 5 of us will just have our family time. This is called our 'bi nian', which is avoiding the new year. Hmm thus that explains why my 'annual income' is so low!
But again, i guess we will have more family time together again.. cos lydia and i damn busy la.. We probably stay at home and do our work. Now im going to rant cos im in a good mood.
Using the new year to mug for accounts test and memorising my script for presentation on wed. First ever chinese presentation. realised that allthough i speak chinese everyday, it s not easy speaking facts like chinese history in class.
Project meetings tmr and sunday. And i ve to skip mass on sunday.

I just went to re-bid my modules. Dropped and then bid at a lower price so i can save e$. MA bidded from 41 buck to 21. Now i just put 10 since the vacancies are way too many.
This week i made changes to my modules again. Dropped ethics because im admitted into a BSM (business study mission) to Xi'an China at the end of the term which is the last 10days of April. Applied super last minute. Was surprised because during interview the prof said although im qualified, the girls will become odd numbers if i go. Hotel supposed to be shared by 2 in per room. Then received mail yesterday he said i'm in. Happy cos i thought with my gpa i woulnt able to apply.
I really dont look forward to CNY. Imagine having presentation and accounts test. Luckily i dropped ethics cos im scheduled a presentation also. Otherwise i'll have 2 on wed. And i haven do my research for presentation yet. Tang Taizhong's empire.. The Tang dynasty.
How i love all my subjects this term. Getting more and more 'china'. 2 china mods.
But flooded by so many projects. Meetings.

Today i 'packed up' early at around 11pm. Wanted to take a break and blog about this new semester. =)
Firstly, I dropped CAT(computer as analysis tool) because the project is too heavy, i need more time to familiarise myself with excel cos the class is simply going very fast-paced and i dont really like the prof. I replaced my 5 th module with management accounting. Heh i thought i swear last sem that financial accounting gonna be my last accounts mod?! But I just realised there's 3 compulsory accounts mods to clear under my 2nd major- finance. MA should be ok since i m taking the easier one meant for non-accounts students, unlike FA. And I was the stupid one who placed the highest bid of e$41.01!! was super pissed when i saw 1 vacancy left. means only 4 ppl bid and i poured in so much money!
I love all the classes overall. Having wide spectrum so it s not boring at all.. and all afternoon classes. mon and wed from 12-7pm and thur 12to330. Haha but 2 classes consecutively can be quite tired though.. i m trying to get used to it. And this is my first time doing 5 modules. Otherwise i cant graduate in time.
International Econs, Finance, Ethics and social resonsibility, Intro to China history culture law and economy ( class conducted in chinese!) and lastly, Management acc. 5 projects altogether which adds up to 7 presentations! It seems like i cannot find any mod w/o projects. will definitely be spending alot of time in school having meetings and getting to know the many many people who are my project mates. Haven got a grp for MA yet.. who wants me??
But i really cant deny the heavy workload. Usually i 'll only feel the pinch by the 3rd or 4th week.. now within 4 days, i m already like catching up with all the readings.
Yesterday and this evening i attended 2 briefings: one for summer internship and another one for resume. Career councelor was telling those students who are graduating this yr and next yr to brace themselves through the storm of the current recession. I really hope that by the time i grad in 2011, economy will improve. Cant believe singapore economic growth rate -2%. negative leh. scary.
Although i always say i wanna get good grades, and i really study hard, im always trying to remind myself that life is not about grades. There s many other stuff to do also la. Like being a good daughter, and girlfriend.
Dad's op in march. Hope the cancer doesnt recur again.

Time flies and school is starting really soon! 2 days more. Then i ll have my 3 day week. Still deciding whether to drop a module and replace with another one cos that is the one that i need i will need more preparation. It s a compulsory module for me anyway. BOSS starts on mon and i'll bid again. Till then. Im so excited about school. Today spent few hours running through vista looking the lecture slides. Officially a finance student doing Finance101.
2 more days to have fun! Then i'll start toning down to get into my mugging mode again. As i had always be.
CNY is coming too..

It's 2009, the beginning of a brand new year. Celebrated in church as my choir is in charge of the Thanksgiving mass at 10pm. Mass till 11plus then followed by rosary and some singing to make up to 12 and then countdown in church. After which had a little party at church canteen, eating porridge. took cab with baby and lydia.Thank god for guiding us through 2008. Had been a tough year for my family.. daddy down with colon cancer, from the time he had surgery to radio to chemo and now he's well again, waiting for the last surgery in a few months to come. Thank God for this. Thank god also for granting me such a wonderful boyfriend, someone who is so nice, sweet, caring, loving, encouraging, reliable, trustworthy, whom i know i can rely on.. for life..yupp n this person is none but Desmond Yao.2009 im going to work even harder to get my 3.00. Not there yet.. but trying to get there.. must get there!Cherish our loved ones.
