Thanks for all the concern from my friends! school frens, church frens etc and daddy.(so i can imagine how serious that was) Hmm. okay this week i feel really better. Ironically, i feel more relaxed this week, when my mid-term tests are next week! smu life...really very busy... sometimes really hate the heavy workload(have to do readings before seminar, which i dun even do in jc, got project deadlines to meet). That aside. I love school mainly because of my frens. So far everyone whom are know is really nice. my LTB and TWC proj mates. especially wendy: u always let me copy your math assignment when i dunno how to do.

I used to study real real real hard in jc. as in because of studies i miss out fun...and most importantly sleep. I 'm now trying to change this. i think i will enjoy uni life if i work less hard. one of the reasons why i take ages to 'graduate' from piano (i assume i will pass lah..) is becos of studies.. then stop for 6 years since 2001. If last time dont stop, who knows can achieve more..anyway my next step is theory grade 6.

Last week was the most sucking and depressing week for me.. i kinda fell into depression.. was very caught up with schoolwork. project meetings etc... The earliest i reach home everyday is 9plus PM. okay although that s not very late.. but i'm just not used to the timings. my class starts at 12pm ends ard 3.15 then have to study in the library till 7pm for meetings and cca. Freaking cold in smu..even my jacket cannot really help.. Then i had the lame thought of dropping out of uni during the past week.. thought private uni will be more relaxed? this was what i thought at first. well but friends who has friends in there told me the other story... perhaps i'm just not use to it? have to accept the busy smu life. now i believe why ppl always say that although smu is surrounded by many shopping malls..students are still always found inside the school. becos of projects. I MISS SHOPPING! when i go to school, shops are yet to be opened. But when i leave school, shops are already closed! =( boo..

Next week is another busy week...mon proj meeting again to prepare for thur s presentation. tue statistics mid-term test and wed math test. thurs a presentation on a leader. then have to prepare course materials for the workshop in pertapis gals home in two weeks time.

Hooray!!! THe day finally came. I completed my piano last grade exam at 4.56pm exactly 30 mins. The examiner was super friendly! I was shocked at first when i learnt that the examiner's gonna be a female.. cos female examiners are believed to be 'niao'. Anyway, i went the unconventional way: played the 3 pieces first instead of scales. Of course i made quite a lot of mistakes here and there=( but overall think should be able to pass la. plus before the exam i went to buy heatpad- something which ppl use only when they go to winter places! hahaha i actually used that to keep my hands warm and to avoid them turning NUMB. yup that's what i experienced 6 years ago during the grade 5 exam, when i felt that my hands werent belonging to me.ahah! smart right? and that s very effective. My sight-reading sucks big time. i want to admit that the piece that she gave me was a real simple one.. think it look like grade 3-5 or something? only 2 flats nia... wa but i very slow in reading notes.. so just played my luck through. Scales was the super successful one.. think i should get very high marks ba..cos only got one mistake.. then aural... sing the bass part. As usual FAIL. cos i 'zao sia'. BUt then sight singing(read then sing from score) quite simple. cos D major..easy to sing.. last but not least... the description part!! wa i spent alot of time memorisaing the terms and music vocab today all shoot out.. then i think i guess the period correctly. saying in a 'guessing' manner: I think this piece is written in the modern period. She smiled and said, can u name a composer from this period? i was stunned. then she said, i also hate this question. i anyhow guessed mendelssohn.. but mum said wrong..cos he's from the romantic period.. well never mind... I'm in a good mood!!!

I think it is really important to try out the piano before the exam. I made a booking yesterday 8-9pm. had a 'culture' shock. Nope, to be more precise, 'piano shock'. because the piano keys were super heavy. The touch is totally different from my 2 pianos at home.

Ok, then had dinner with mum at Taka. Then i returned to school after dinner cos need my fren to install second life on my laptop. At the entrance, I met my pri 1,2 english teacher, mdm tong and pri4&6 math and art teacher Mdm goh. They took a while to remember who i am. hmmm i also almost cant recognised them le. so shocked! =)

Project meeting cancelled last minute due to a member who cant make it. Then I felt bad too.. had really wanted to go for the first meeting for e.y.e investment club. But did not go in the end cos very sleepy... especially in the afternoon. Furthermore it was raining heavily...and i've no class every friday. High inertia in changing clothes and stepping out into the roads with an umbrella!

That means i'll need to visit the library on sunday to find books regarding stress management and motivational skills for my comm service project at pertapis. suppose to conduct a 2-day workshop for the girls in the home.

I'm so happiee!!! Just now around 4.30pm, ben, wendy and I went to Pertapis Centre for women and children to meet up with the social workers to discuss our community service project. And they were so nice and friendly. very supportive of our project idea. yuppp and next thur we are going to turn up as a whole team and submit our proposal to them. Before going there, I was really worried that our idea will be rejected. Although they emailed us to ask us come down for discussion, it was not confirmed that they will accept our project. The proposal presentation was this morning.. and prof was like asking us if this whole thing had been confirmed. we were very uncertained.. just went along and said ya. Sponsorships were also not yet confirmed. But after meeting up with them, we felt at ease!

Tmr will be my techno and world change first project meeting, on second life... counting down to 18SEP 4.30pm Paragon Kawai Music School. Hope I'll pass my piano exam!!!

I feel stressed and overwhelmed at certain times... but TRUST IN THE LORD and everything will be fine=)

Life is getting busier and busier because assignments and projects..ok la only 2.. are starting soon. My LTB community service project is going to target at Pertapis Women and chidren centre. and we will conduct workshops on etiquette and life skills for them. in the midst of preparing for next thur's proposal presentation..
Then math assignments. I've yet to start on the stats one which is due next wed... super tough la... it's unlike jc math where we just press calculator to get the answer. Now math is like... writing words. lots of concepts tested rather than the numerical values.
But i'm happy, finally finished a crap and rubbish essay 3-4pages for academic writing.

Had project meeting at Li ka shing library at 2pm with my dear members: clara, lynn, juiying,wendy, chen bo and benjamin. did the action plan: we emailed various boys and girls home to see if they allow us to perform our community service-we are going to do a workshop on etiquette. in two weeks time will be our project proposal presentation. okays..this is for leadership and team-buiding.

Talking about another module: technology and world change... somehow intimidated by it.. cos there's lots of readings to prepare.. and they are important cos if dun read, cant speak. too factual la... i;ve to admit that i m bad in speaking facts in class..cos u really have to memorize the facts.. unlike leadership and teambuiding, it;s easier to speak in class as most of it are common sense..

Another 2 mods are math for econ analysis and statistics. i love math. But, it's so different at the tertiary level..cos we really have to understand the concept behind it. unlike jc, where we just need to memorize the standard format.. then just calculate the answer....now math must write many words. hmm.. and i got the same prof for these 2 mods. Dr Lin ting kwong. very nice prof, but he can be monotonous at times. yup and class participation 10% nia.. which is very small, so no need to talk much in class. must start the math assignments tmr. All assignments are graded.

Lastly academic writing module. I've a wonderful teacher. ms norazida. very patient and her lessons sometimes very comical. haha.. But i'm stressed... cos of the essays. essay 1 3-4 pages. essay 2 5-6 pages and the very final research paper is 10 pages! lol. in jc gp only need to produce 500words nia... but now...i even have difficulty producing 3 pages! font 12. which is damn small lor... haix!!!! stressed!!!

ok..next cca. yay!!! I love FIDES. the catholc society in smu. in latin stands for faith. meeting held every wed 7.30 -9.30 PM. at cana. very near st peter and paul's church. which means my lesson ends at 3.15 then i have to wait and rot.. but i study with my frens la. hahaha i very guai. actually as if! dunno how slack i've become eversince i enter the doors of smu. ok la. I never regret choosing smu. in fact i really thank god for that. so near to my place already. everyday 15mins ride from kovan to dhoby. or not sometimes city hall to school of business. then smu is like.. the environment very nice.. the seminar rooms.. group study rooms etc. the best thing is that i;ll never get lost. cos it;s small and ralatively easy to find. every building is linked through the concourse at basement 1 which is open to the public.

My second cca is the invvestment interactive club. fri 4-6pm. but have start yet maybe soon and i'll elaborate more. my entry is super long. i think i shall stop here. gonna print out my lecture notes and sleep. NItezzZZ.

I played wrongly today. for one whole song in mass. alright it s the entire verse 1. But dunno my choir know or not? i was lost when i played the starting. moral of story: must practise. I have to admit that i did not practice. cos these 2 days was stressed over my academic essay.

Then after mass went to nativity church for the feastday food and fun fair. haha took qiangshun(chinese choir chairman) car. He fetched stephen, jenny, lynette and i to the church. bought many food. cos i had too much coupons to spend. $45. which was alot. But as the food were quite ex, i took around 1 hour to settle the whole thing. I met ms lim, my secondary sch geog teacher, but she never taught me before la. I wished her a belated happy teachers day.

gonna eat all the delicacies that i'd bought just know. then going to smu for project meeting.. pathetic right? meeting on sun. but never mind. cos i've super duper nice team mates!

Today is the actual day of teachers' day. yesterday was the celebration. I was super ambitious before that. wanted to go back HI, SR and then RJC to see my econs tutor. In the end i only went back to rjc la. so long never see mr neo already. and i felt bad.. never call mrs chan, the only pri sch teacher which i'm in contact with.. because was kinda busy with my school work. Life has been quite slacking so far for me. as u can see from my schedule.. the afternoon session.. but projects start coming up.. we have started planning our comm service proj under the module: leadership and teambuiding.

Wishing all my teachers a wonderful teachers day. I feel so blessed to have met so many nice nice teachers in HI and especially SR.
