Hooray!!! THe day finally came. I completed my piano last grade exam at 4.56pm exactly 30 mins. The examiner was super friendly! I was shocked at first when i learnt that the examiner's gonna be a female.. cos female examiners are believed to be 'niao'. Anyway, i went the unconventional way: played the 3 pieces first instead of scales. Of course i made quite a lot of mistakes here and there=( but overall think should be able to pass la. plus before the exam i went to buy heatpad- something which ppl use only when they go to winter places! hahaha i actually used that to keep my hands warm and to avoid them turning NUMB. yup that's what i experienced 6 years ago during the grade 5 exam, when i felt that my hands werent belonging to me.ahah! smart right? and that s very effective. My sight-reading sucks big time. i want to admit that the piece that she gave me was a real simple one.. think it look like grade 3-5 or something? only 2 flats nia... wa but i very slow in reading notes.. so just played my luck through. Scales was the super successful one.. think i should get very high marks ba..cos only got one mistake.. then aural... sing the bass part. As usual FAIL. cos i 'zao sia'. BUt then sight singing(read then sing from score) quite simple. cos D major..easy to sing.. last but not least... the description part!! wa i spent alot of time memorisaing the terms and music vocab today all shoot out.. then i think i guess the period correctly. saying in a 'guessing' manner: I think this piece is written in the modern period. She smiled and said, can u name a composer from this period? i was stunned. then she said, i also hate this question. i anyhow guessed mendelssohn.. but mum said wrong..cos he's from the romantic period.. well never mind... I'm in a good mood!!!I think it is really important to try out the piano before the exam. I made a booking yesterday 8-9pm. had a 'culture' shock. Nope, to be more precise, 'piano shock'. because the piano keys were super heavy. The touch is totally different from my 2 pianos at home.
Ok, then had dinner with mum at Taka. Then i returned to school after dinner cos need my fren to install second life on my laptop. At the entrance, I met my pri 1,2 english teacher, mdm tong and pri4&6 math and art teacher Mdm goh. They took a while to remember who i am. hmmm i also almost cant recognised them le. so shocked! =)
