Congrats to lydia! who had 'graduated' from piano grade 8! good lor.. left me and nette..today lots of thoughts came to my mind. back track to 6 years ago. In 2001, 20th aug, we both had our grade 5 exam. Vividly iremembered that i cried after coming out of the studio and kept thinking that i would fail. i was too nervous at that time..till my fingers were totally stiffed, partly due to the strong air-con. thus the entire exam was screwed up. I had a mental block when i started playing my first piece, entittled rondo. haha i even remember the tune la., except that i've long forgot how to play.

So now, i'm just worried if history would repeat itself..probably yes. but also probably not. consider that for the past 6 years i'd been playing in church. Doesnt that sound even scarier? scarier that playing for just only one person- the examiner. in church, how many pairs of ears. i wonder.

I realised as i grow up, my mentality differs. I love piano very much actually. really regretted stopping it after 20aug2001. I should continue playing. maybe i can even get grade 8 before sec 4? I know my piano skills will be even better had i not stop for that number of years. At least sight-reading will be better. I admit that i cant even read bass clef notes properly! condering that in organ, left hands are just use to press chords. No use thinking about the past i know. But even if i fail this exam, I WILL NOT GIVE UP. I want to do the new syllabus, which my mum says the pieces are even tougher. I want to get my theory grade 8 before stepping out of smu.

Last year, my wish was to learn guzheng after completing my piano exam. I wanted to buy a guzheng and climb the ladder, just like what we did for piano. But i realised i have too many dreams. It s not that easy to cope with organ, which every week need to play, my piano, maybe who knows if i'm tired in the coporate world one day may switch to that to become my rice bowl, and lastly guzheng, which i've to learn from the basics. so i dropped the thought.

Life without music sucks. But life without god sucks even further.
